Hope you had a lovely evening spending it with your family & friends!
I've never been greedy when it comes to spending money on good beauty products, but there are a lot of options in the market that are ridiculously affordable that deliver just as amazing (if not even better) results than most luxurious brands! I've narrowed down 4 favorites that I use on a regular basis.
Bronzing Powder - H&M | 7.99 €
This is my all time cult bronzer. It's silky smooth & leaves your skin matte with a slightly shimmering finish. Works perfectly whether you want to sculpt your cheekbones or add a beautiful bronzed glow to your holiday tan.
Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cairo - NYX | 7.80 €
Smooth lipstick cream that provides your lips with moist & a matte finish. Love the shade, love the texture and absolutely love that it feels as if you don't have anything on your lips. Even though the product promises a lasting result, I think the colour fades pretty quickly. And as you pull up the wand, I think the applicator doesn't get too much lip cream on it, resulting with you having to apply thin layer after thin layer until you get the result you want.
Wonder Pencil - NYX | 6.20 €
Everyone loves a good multitasking makeup product and this one, as the name gives away, is a true wonder pencil. Its 3-in-1 function will fulfill any beauty desire by covering flaws and blemishes, lining your lips and brightening your eyes. I've only used it for lip enhancement and eye brightening, and I do agree that it does wonders if you want bigger looking eyes. I do believe it works fine while lining the cupid's bow on your lips, even though I do many other makeup tricks in order to get the perfect pout.
Quick tip - You can also try using it under your eyebrows for an instant brow lift.
Lip Pencil - Seppälä | 2.95 €
This product is beyond ridiculous!! And don't take me wrong, I mean it in a good way. It's super cheap and seriously the best lip liner I've ever owned. And I've owned many. Anything from the most expensive brands to the brands that focuses on lips with highly pigmented products. I think I bought this one for a measly 2.95 €. And the color is long-lasting, keeps the lipstick or lipgloss in one place and gives you a dreamy puckered pout. Sadly, it's only available in Seppälä's store, not online.
I've already done a review of this product here, but been lazy when it comes to showing results in pictures. (Mainly because I really don't like selfies, or being photographed what so ever), but since I want to focus more on beauty related posts, I thought I'd show you guys more products, reviews, results, swatches & maybe even tutorials some day.
Sleek Highlighting Palette - here
Sleek Highlighting Palette in Precious Metals is a mix of 3 luxurious creamy shades and one powdery: Platinum, Royal Gold, Renaissance & Antique Bronze. Simply blend with your fingers and apply to the inner corners of the eyes, across the brow bone and along the tops of the cheekbones. (apply with an eyeshadow brush for increased intensity and precision.)
You can also use a foundation brush to apply onto shoulders, down the centre of the arms and onto décolletage.
As stated in my review, I really love this product. It's affordable, easy to apply and gives amazing results. Just one tip when using: be careful with the color since it's quite intense. Use a cotton swab to remove a bit of the product if you've overdone it.
I've been thinking about focusing my posts more on beauty since that's also one of my biggest interests. I've built more of a style blog and I feel like I want a bit more diversity and more to write about. Since I am a beautician as well as beauty writer, I will from now on share more beauty related posts, including products/ product reviews, trends, tips and beauty looks. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it just as much as me.
Three is a trend. It's just as simple as that. Now, let me introduce you to the biggest Fall/ Winter 2016-17 trends, which I've narrowed down to 5 trends/3 designers each.
Oscar de la Renta, Nicole Miller, Topshop Unique
The dramatic eyeliner from spring 2016 continues to be the statement eye makeup for fall. Play it safe with a plain cat eye or go bananas and draw a geometric liner Á la Topshop Unique.
Bottega Veneta, Dior, Fenty x Puma by Rihanna
As the sky turns darker, so does our lips. (okay, maybe not literally, but the it-color does) Anyways, greet your lover with a romantic wine kiss or bring out the devil in you, by taking on Rihanna's ebony black lipstick shade from her debut collection with Puma.
GLITTER MAKES IT BETTER
Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger, No.21
It most certainly does. Apply your makeup as the princess you are by adding an ounce of glitter to your eyelides as seen at sporty Tommy Hilfiger. And if you're looking for a more dramatic look, place glitter below your eyes down to your cheekbones, looking just like a Burberry model. Whatever you prefer.
IT'S OKAY TO GLOW
Valentino, Balmain, Ralph Lauren
Whether it's your striking persona or impressive strobing technique, make sure your haters (or followers) see you glow throughout the dull days of fall.
Versace, Elie Saab, Giorgio Armani
Look très chic while strutting down the city streets in Kendall Jenner's simple smoky eye from the Versace runway, and evacuate the dancefloor on a Saturday night out looking like the glam rock n' roll girls at Elie Saab.
ROMANCE AIN'T DEAD JUST YET
Saint Laurent, Sibling, Prada
I guess a fall without red lips is pretty much non-existent. Orangey, deep and vampy red pouts came down the runways one after another during several shows. A classic, lovable nuance if you ask me.
It's Sunday and my day is filled with researching and writing as almost all of my days these past weeks. All you fashion lovers know that it's fashion month and the busiest time of year for the industry.

Been using this bad boy for a few months now. I was intrigued to buy into Too Faced's brand because of their eye candy designs. I mean their Melted liquified lipsticks look like heaven and I thought the caption for this mascara was funny and therefore worth a try. I've always been picky with mascaras since I think my lashes never gets the volume or length that I'm looking for. Diorshow was the best for a while but I noticed they're not as good as they used to be. My sister thought the same.
Anyway, what do I think?.. Does it live up to its name? - No. But then again what does?
Is it good? - I'd say it's average. I wasn't impressed and it didn't get so high on the wow-factor. It actually felt heavy and pushed down my lashes instead of giving them volume.
BUT the things that I really loved about it was the design. It gets cred for the beautiful color it has and the creativity for naming it. I mean if something says it's better than sex then you'll just have to try it.

A few days ago I started wondering out of nowhere if I have a foundation brush or not? I have a memory of owning one from Make Up Forever but I wasn't sure. And to my big surprise, it turned up the day before yesterday and I got super excited. I bought it in Paris about 1,5 years ago and I haven't even used it. Simply because I prefer applying foundation with my fingers. But will give this one a try since it's super soft and good looking^^,

I'm obsessed with my new lipstick from Make up store. Or technically I'm obsessed with all lipsticks and glosses in any pink or nude shade! This one is called preppy and it's the perfect pink shade and it moisturizes your lips which gives it a smooth look and feel. Another favourite lip product of mine is H&M's lipgloss in powder kiss. It gives your lips a glossy look and the thing I actually love about it the most is the fact that it's got this sweet vanilla sugarcandy scent to it that I just can't get enough of. I'm literally smelling my lips everytime I use it. Looks weird but I can't help myself!

When it comes to spring/ summer 2016 makeup trends the 3 key words are:
Keep. It. Light.
- It's time to exfoliate your face and body and invest in a moisturizing cream to achieve a good looking
and healthy glow.
- A spraytan is the next step if you want a lead with looking bomb as f*!k at the beach.
-Replace your foundation with a tinted day cream or bb cream and apply bronzer on the apple of your cheeks.
- Illuminate your cheekbones if needed and apply a pastel or bronze coloured eyeshadow
- Apply nude/pink lipgloss (preferably one that hydrates)
- Pink, coral, nude or cherry nail varnish look good on nails and toenails this summer
- Spray on a fresh fragrance from Chanel, Escada or Clean (Avoid perfume if you´re going to sunbath, the spray may leave discoloration on your skin when exposed to sun)
- And lastly. Keep your eyebrows natural and apply a few layers of mascara

I know I said I'd be back with a review of this product shortly. But my schedule has been so hectic.. I've had a friend over during the whole easter weekend and I've also landed my first journalism internship, which I'm totally lovin'! I get to write about one of my passions and even though I've just written 3 articles so far I think it's so much fun and I'm loving it! If you guys want to check it out click this link and look for the beauty articles.
Anyhow, here's what I think about Sleek Highligting Palette
- Love the colours, especially royal gold and antique bronze. RG is creamy and AB is powder so I mix them together and apply them high up on my cheekbones.
- The shimmer and pigment is strong, which is good if you want it to show. I had to remove a bit with a cotton swab to avoid an overly dramatic look.
- Every different shade is for a particular area of your face: On your cheekbones, eyelids, bridge of your nose and forehead.
Every beauty loving girl has probably been on the lookout for a highlighting product or illuminator to get the perfect glow. I know I have been. I've tried out illuminating primers, glittery eyeshadows and nothing have stood out particularly much. So I bought a highlighting palette from Sleek with cream metallic shades and I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Will get back with a review shortly!
Many of us feel lost in the jungle of primers, foundations and powders, having problems with getting an even base, how to cover acne and getting the right color for your face. So I have put together an easy guide for you guys on how to get the perfect base.
1. Know Your Skin type
If you want the right products for your face, you need to know your skin type. Skin types are divided in 4 different categories. Normal, dry, oily and combination skin. There is also a fifth one called sensitive skin, which is often red and irritated.
Before you start applying any make-up on your face, apply a primer. A primer will either mattify or illuminate and add brightness to your face and make the rest of your make-up stay in place throughout the day.
(If you have very dry skin I suggest you apply a moisturizing creme before these steps)
Quick tip: If you don't need full on coverage you can mix your primer and foundation to get a translucent result.
Suffer from redness and blue hues under your eyes? Not a problem. Use a color correcting palette to cover your complexions. The key is: Opposites attracts.
Use green pigmented concealer to cover redness and orange to cover the blue. Purple covers yellow undertones and brightens dull skin, while yellow covers veins and sunspots.
To get the right color you need to go to the cosmetic store without any make-up and try out different shades. Pick out 2 or 3 different shades that are similar to your own skin color and try them out on your jawline above the neck and make sure the color of the foundation melts together with your own skin color and also matches the color of your neck.
Many girls try out foundations on their hand which can give you the wrong color since the color of the hands are usually a bit darker than the face.
5. Foundation Skin Type Guide
- Choose a foundation depending on whether you want light, medium or full coverage
- Most brands have foundations for these skin tones: yellow, pink, olive and brown
Yellow is suitable for most people while people with lighter skin tend to need pink. If you have dark skin you should turn to brands that specialize in dark skin tones (Iman, bare minerals, Maybelline fit me)
- Liquid foundation is suitable for all skin types, especially dry skin
- Creme foundation is perfect for dry skin
- Cake or stick foundation suits oily skin and covers scars and blemishes. The stick foundation also functions as a concealer.
- Mineral foundation is suitable for all skin types
- Spray foundation is the ultimate choice if you have very sensitive skin
6. Highlight & Contouring
Contouring is made to define your facial features and shape them while highlighting makes for a sculpted and glowy look.
You can use cream foundations, concealers, bronzers or contouring palettes to do your H & C. Just make sure that your highlighting product is 2-3 shades lighter than your own skin color and the contouring should be 2-3 shades darker.
- Apply the H and C with brushes
- Use a blending sponge to gently tap the H & C on your face
(don't streak it, the colors will fade)
The best powder to use for an impeccable finish is translucent powder. This powder is transparent and blends together with your own skin color so you don't even have to bother finding the right color from a regular powder.
Apply bronzer in two C- shapes on both sides from your forehead to the cheeks to the chin and down your nose.
Apply blush right on to your cheek bones
(Suck in your cheeks for easier application)
